Audemars Piguet was founded in 1875 in Le Brassus, in the heart of the Vallée de Joux, where craftsmanship and tradition have reinforced one another for generations. To this day, the house remains independent and in the hands of the founding families—a rarity in haute horlogerie that is clearly reflected in the choices the brand makes.
In 1972, Audemars Piguet introduced the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, designed by Gerald Genta. A stainless steel sports watch with an octagonal bezel, visible screws, and an architecture that broke with all the conventions of its time. Steel, until then reserved for everyday timepieces, was elevated to a luxury material. What was a provocation at the time grew into a new definition of luxury.
Since then, Audemars Piguet has focused not on the masses, but on the connoisseur. On those who not only look, but understand what they see.
